The project also includes an associated external gatehouse, service yard, HGV parking, car parking, an SUD’s drainage system and landscape areas.
The scheme comprises a 650,000 ft2 warehouse to shell and core specification along with 18,000 squared feet of office space over two stories completed to Cat A fit out standard. The project achieved a very good BREEAM rating.
Fixing Point was involved in the project from the first quarter of 2015 alongside facade specialists Keyclad. We advised on the use of stainless steel composite panel fixings for a variation of panel thicknesses, and also worked closely with the site managers and drawing office to ensure all fixings were to the correct specification.
All the fixings provided were specified grade 304 austenitic stainless steel as it is particularly durable, resistant to corrosion and offers a 25-year warranty.
Keyclad began work on site in April 2015 and we maintained a close relationship with the contracts manager throughout the remaining months of the project.
Project Utopia was completed in August 2015.
