The Project
Fixing Point supplied a complete flat roofing solution to Pinnacle Roofing (Scotland) for a new care home development in Bonnyrigg. The project required durable and fire-safe roofing suitable for Scotland’s challenging winter conditions.
The project involved installing a flat roofing system during the winter months in Scotland — presenting significant weather and fireproofing challenges. The key difficulty was ensuring a safe and compliant interface between the roofing and fireproofing systems under cold, wet conditions.

The Fixing Point Solution
Fixing Point supplied a complete roofing package, including VCL, insulation, PVC membrane, fixings, tubes and bars, and prefabricated metal components. The team overcame the fireproofing interface issue by infilling troughs with a specialist fire trough filler, ensuring full compliance and maintaining installation quality throughout adverse weather conditions.
Outcome
The new care home’s roof was successfully completed to specification and designed to achieve BROOF(t4) fire performance certification.
